Up From Where You Are
Life can be very hard especially when you feel you have fallen in deep despair and you do not see an end to the turmoil. There was a period of my life when it seemed one traumatic thing after another kept me with the feeling that there was no hope. Though I was a born again Christian and knew my hope was everything in Jesus Christ as my Savior, I still walked a very tough road at times. I knew Christ as my Rock, and when I would be in the midst of yet another storm, I would be reminded of the scriptures,
New King James Version (NKJV)
The Race of Faith
12 Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, 2 looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.
So as I work on this series, and if you find yourselves at your place of despair, remind yourself of these paintings and keep your eyes looking up. Your redemption is near.
